The Crane Lane is open for business, with a new, socially-distanced layout

They’ve had to make some major changes.
But the main thing is that Cork’s Crane Lane pub has finally reopened after months of closure, with those all-important substantial meals served by the lovely folk at Arthur Mayne’s.
“After a long hibernation and lots of preparation to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, we made some changes we know will put your mind at ease. ” the team posted on Facebook.

In the large outdoor courtyard, the bench seating has been removed to allow for socially-distanced tables for two, with new partitions in between.
Inside the bar, more partitions have been placed along the bar, with small tables in between – perfect for a candlelit dinner and a catch-up with friends.

The Crane is the latest of publican Benny McCabe’s venues to welcome customers back through the doors.
The Old Town Whiskey Bar at the Bodega is now open for coffee and a limited menu on Cornmarket Street, with Rising Sons back serving their famous pizzas and nachos across the road from 3pm daily. Over on North Main Street, the beer garden at The Vicarstown is the perfect spot for a pint and a plate of tacos.
While it’s not back to the heaving, music-filled spot we all know and love just yet, The Crane Lane is now a top-notch venue for a cosy dinner, coffee or lunch.
Walk-ins are welcome after 4pm and you can book a table via Arthur Mayne’s (also open daily with new outdoor seating on Pembroke Street from 10am) by emailing maynespharmacy@gmail.com.
