Brisk and Breezy: Here’s the weather forecast for the rest of the week in Cork

By Yay Cork June 3, 2020June 3, 2020

We were spoiled with sunshine over the weekend.

Now Met Éireann is predicting more… predictable June temperatures for the coming five days, with a few showers and brisk breezes cooling the country after highs of 27C last week.

Overall it will be dry today with good sunny spells developing by late morning.

“Feeling a little fresher than recent days in moderate, occasionally fresh northerly breezes. Highest temperatures ranging 16 to 19 degrees Celsius, mildest in the southwest of the province.” says the national forecaster.

It will be largely dry tonight with clear spells as temperatures dip to 5 to 8 degrees Celsius.

Thursday will bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers, though most areas will be dry in the evening. It will be cooler than average with highest temperatures of between 14 to 17 degrees Celsius and occasionally fresh breezes.

The weekend

On Friday, sunny spells and scattered showers continue until the afternoon but the day is expected to end with good sunshine and highest temperatures of 16C.

Saturday will start off dry and mostly sunny across the southern half of the country, however a band of rain will sink down from the north with cool, wet and breezy weather extending countrywide into the afternoon and evening and temperatures creeping no higher than 13C.

The outlook for Sunday is better; most areas will be dry with sunny spells and highest temperatures of 18C.

“Current indications suggest next week will bring largely dry conditions with sunny spells and no more than moderate northerly breezes. Mild into the afternoons,” reports Met Éireann.

Hay fever warning

If you’re battling with allergies, it’s a good time to take extra precautions before heading outdoors. The pollen count is high and it’s expected to remain so for the rest of the week.
