Spend Monday evening contemplating the universe in a city whiskey bar

Need a break already?
If you’d like to escape the tethers of gravity and float off into space for a few hours this evening, make your way to the Old Town Whiskey Bar at Bodega on Cornmarket Street.
At 8pm tonight, Monday, March 2nd, Cork scientist and astronomy outreacher for the CIT/Blackrock Castle Observatory Denis Walsh will be taking a small group on a “journey around the universe, starting from where you are”.
Simply pop in, order a drink or a coffee, find a comfy seat, forget your Monday troubles and enjoy a two-hour presentation entitled ‘An Evening With the Stars’, in which Denis will delve into the fascinating history of the 13.8 billion-year-old universe.
So what, exactly, should you expect?
“Earth, Moon, Sun, planets, stars, and a few surprises,” says Denis.
“Feel free to bring up any questions or mystery, making this evening a bit more philosophical than you otherwise thought!”
Sounds cosmic. More details here.
