Met Éireann has warned that it will be particularly cold tonight, as temperatures dip below freezing across Munster.

While the evening will be dry with clear spells, the mercury will plummet to minus 1 degree after nightfall. A sharp frost and icy stretches on untreated surfaces are likely, so keep that in mind if you’re planning on driving early in the morning.

“Tomorrow, Tuesday, will be cold once again with further scattered showers, most frequent across the western half of the province.” reports the national forecaster.

“Temperatures will be between 4 and 6 degrees in fresh to strong southwest to west winds.”

The outlook for Tuesday night is for temperatures of between zero and plus 2 degrees and mainly dry conditions for much of the country.
