This is the most dog-friendly street in Cork for a pub crawl

Listen up, dog lovers.
If your dog is the sociable type, there’s no reason to leave him at home if you fancy a few scoops.
As most dog owners know, however, sometimes it can be tricky to find a spot where our furry friends are welcome, no matter how mannerly and well behaved they may be.
Our team of pint-loving, pro-dog investigators have figured out a route where you won’t be turned away for having a pet in tow. After your daily walkies, fill up your pockets with dog snacks and make a beeline for Douglas Street, where refreshment and a friendly welcome awaits both humans and canines.
Here are four spots to stop at on your doggy day out.
Nana’s
First, drop by Nana’s for a pint. This cosy pub has a warm wood burning stove, a relaxed, old-school atmosphere and a cool beer garden, hand painted by Kevin O’Brien of Viva Media Cork.
You might even meet Nana herself – Maura Hallinan, who celebrated her 100th birthday in June.

Fionnbarra
Hungry? Take yourself and your furry friend to Fionnbarra, where you can nab a cosy table inside or relax in the colourful covered beer garden while you check out the menu.
There’s pizzas aplenty and a good selection of tasty bar food. Nobody minds if you sneak a leftover crust under the table and there are dog bowls outside for water.

The People’s Parklet
Fancy a coffee after your meal? Head for Bia Blasta or Cork Flower Studio, then take your cuppa to the People’s Parklet, a mobile park parked at the top of Douglas Street.
Designed as an outdoor ‘chill zone’ in the middle of the city and built by a team led by Benchspace, it’s the perfect place to relax after a long dog walk.

Coughlan’s
An IMRO award-winning live music venue, Coughlan’s is also popular for another reason; they are famously friendly towards dogs.
With 200 gins on offer and the best pint of Beamish on this side of town, it’s the perfect spot to meet up with mates (doggy date?) and settle in for a few.
The best behaved doggos can be seen sitting alongside their owners near the bar, but yappy pups tend to congregate in the lovely Tom Waits-themed beer garden, where they can socialise alongside their owners.
