ORSO’s had a birthday makeover (and there’s a new menu too)

It turns seven this month.
Now, after a colourful interior makeover at their Pembroke Street eatery, ORSO owners and managers Dee Munnelly and Tracey Corbett are rolling out some exotic new dishes.
The new evening menus build on ORSO’S culinary roots, inspired by Eastern Mediterranean countries and islands.
The Mezze section now features whole roasted harissa prawns with confit of garlic to share, alongside ‘Sfeehas’ – Moroccan spiced beef in pastry with fennel cream – and ‘Batersh’ – roasted aubergine and crispy lamb served with flatbread.

If it’s something more substantial you’re after, try the clay baked seafood, chermoula and garlic crust and the beef fillet skewers with tahini, fried sumac onions and dried limes.

Dessert fans will go weak at the knees for their homemade pomegranate and pistachio ice cream sandwich with lime curd too.
New to the drinks menu is a range of traditional Turkish Sharbats; fresh home-made cordials served with sparkling water and dressed with fresh herbs (don’t worry; you can add alcohol if you like).
The wine list has some new organic and sustainable choices too, with beer exclusively from ORSO’s sister establishment, Elbow Lane Brewery, just down the road.
We’re already planning a cosy weekend dinner.
