SNEAK PEEK: The Angler’s Rest has had a makeover (and the garden is FABULOUS)

It’s famously one of Cork’s best beer gardens, with views to the banks of the Lee and Shournagh rivers.
Now The Angler’s Rest is about to reopen this month under a new name… with a brand new interior and deck to match.

The Angler’s in Carrigrohane, between Blarney and Ballincollig, is continuing a 300-year-old tradition by resuming bar service… and the new decor brings this local favourite bang up to date.
Inside, preview photos shared on Facebook, reveal a beautiful new wooden bar has been installed, with vintage lighting hanging from the exposed beams overhead.

New wood panelling and seating have also been added and the building itself has had a complete refurbishment, allowing the original stone walls and fireplace to be carefully restored.
Outdoors, the garden area is now home to a vast wooden deck and new seating, where customers can enjoy a drink along with stunning views over the water.

The Moxley family, owners of the original bar, have gifted the new owners some incredible old photos of the premises, many dating back 100 years. They now take pride of place on the old stone walls in the Whiskey Bar.
With a brand new cocktail and food menu on the way (we’ve heard word of barbecue and pizza), we can foresee many weekend visits in our future.
