3 lovely events you can take your kids along to this month
Life gets busy.
Finding space in the schedule for some proper quality time takes foresight, planning and a bit of inspiration.
Luckily, Cork is bursting with lovely events, classes, workshops and tours that are just as much fun for adults as they are for kids.
If your New Year’s resolution is to spend more time with the most important people in your life, add these three cool family dates to the calendar:
1. Sunday Funday at the Crawford
January 27th at The Crawford Gallery, Emmet Place
Searching for something new and free to do with your family on Sunday? Rosie from BrokenCrow will be hosting story telling sessions in the cosy Penrose Rooms (2pm, 2.30pm, 3pm) on January 27th. Suitable for ages one to four, this one os free but ticketed so sign up here to reserve your spot.
An Art Workshop will run from 2pm-3.30pm, with everyone invited to drop in for some hands-on activities and there will also be a guided tour of the gallery meeting at 2pm in the foyer on the ground floor.
2. Parent and Baby Yoga
Weekly on Tuesdays at Anam Solas Yoga, Model Farm Road
Can’t find a babysitter? No problem. Anam Solas Yoga holds a weekly Parent & Baby Yoga class at their Model Farm Road studio. Every Tuesday from 11am to 12.15pm, the class gives dads and new mums (at least six weeks post-partum or 12 weeks C-section post-partum) a chance to connect with other new parents, move and heal while enjoying some quality time with your new addition.
To book a drop-in class (€13) or a course of six classes (€60) contact Jeanie Jyanti here or email email@example.com.
3. Kid-Friendly Coffee at St Peter’s
Weekly at St Peter’s, North Main Street
You can always be sure the kids will receive a warm welcome at the Oldtown Cafe in St Peters, but there’s even more incentive to drop by on Wednesdays (9am to 4pm) and Saturdays (10am to 12pm).
The venue hosts special coffee meet-ups for parents where little ones can let loose on the play mats while grown-ups chat and kick back with a coffee.
