Still, when it comes to sandwiches, The Long Valley bar get the recipe just right.

It was a landslide victory, but initially, the mere question of where Cork’s favourite sandwich might be located was enough to sour people’s dough.

There was the guy who hated Cork sandwiches.

And, even more curiously, the guy who couldn’t actually locate a sandwich within the county bounds at all…

Then, the sandwich-eating Cork public began to make their voices heard and soon the votes started piling up in favour of one unassuming Winthrop Street sandwich slinger, with a slew of nominations in the wake of a glowing recommendation from one Mr John Creedon.

We asked for specifics. He delivered.

After that? The floodgates opened.
