This incredible women’s choir is officially expanding to Ballincollig this autumn

Darker evenings call for new hobbies.
And if you’re looking for a fun, screen-free way to unwind, meet like-minded women, and belt out a few tunes every week, we’ve found your new favourite evening activity.
Sound Waves, a women’s singing community founded in Kinsale by musician and former primary teacher Dee O’Kelly, is officially expanding to Ballincollig this September – and the demand is already through the roof.
After moving to Kinsale in her early 30s, Dee started the group hoping to bring local women together through music. What she thought might attract 15 people quickly blossomed into a massive, thriving community that recently capped off the summer with a completely sold-out concert backed by a live four-piece band.

True to its tagline, “More Than a Choir”, Sound Waves is all about leaving your daily stress at the door for an hour every week to build confidence, have a laugh, and sing your heart out. You don’t need to be a professional vocalist—just someone who loves music and great company.
How To Get Involved:
With the initial September 3rd taster sessions in Ballincollig already fully booked out at a massive 110-person capacity, a brand-new overflow taster session has just been announced to keep up with demand. It’s happening on Thursday, September 10th in Ballincollig, and registration is essential to secure your spot.
