An affordable Easter Trail takes families through a magical Victorian garden

Need a plan for your crazy energetic kiddos?
Parents running on empty this Easter may find a sweet escape at the Fota Easter Trail, returning this April to the beautiful grounds of Fota House & Gardens.
Families are invited to wander the Arboretum and Victorian Working Garden on a magical self-guided trail packed with puzzles, performers and plenty of chocolate surprises.
The 40-minute adventure is designed for children aged 0–12 — giving grown-ups the rare gift of watching their little ones happily entertained while enjoying a peaceful stroll through one of Cork’s most scenic gardens.

Along the route, five live actors will bring characters inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to life, guiding children through Easter activities and riddles as they hunt for eggs hidden at different stops on the trail.
Young explorers will receive an interactive map and pencil to solve clues, while baskets will be provided for gathering their chocolate treasures — though families are welcome to bring their own.
And keep an eye out: the Easter Bunny himself will be hopping around the gardens spreading a little extra joy.

After the trail, weary parents can reward themselves with a well-earned warm drink and sweet treat at the on-site café while the kids compare their egg haul.
The popular event runs from 11am to 4pm daily from Friday, April 3rd to Monday, April 6th. Tickets cost €10 per child, while adults and children under two go free, making it an affordable spring outing for families.
April weather can be unpredictable, organisers warn, so visitors are encouraged to wrap up warm and bring wellies if rain has been falling. Tickets and full details are available at the Fota House booking website.
