Love to spin a yarn? A famous storyteller is hosting a workshop in Cork

Appreciate a good scéal?
One of the finest storytellers in the English-speaking world is coming to Cork this month for a special two-day workshop in Blarney.
Welsh storyteller Daniel Morden will host an immersive storytelling experience at the Church of the Resurrection on Saturday, April 11th and Sunday, April 12th, with tickets also including admission to his live performance on Friday, April 10th.
Organised by The Gab, the workshop is designed for anyone curious about the art of traditional storytelling — particularly those with little or no previous experience.
Over the first day, participants will step into the world of folklore, myth and oral tradition, learning how to choose a story, shape its structure, and tell it confidently in their own natural voice.
The focus is firmly on connection and enjoyment rather than performance or perfection. Attendees are encouraged to bring along a traditional tale to work with, with guidance provided if needed.
On day two, Morden will build on those foundations, exploring how ancient myths, legends and folktales can be thoughtfully adapted for modern audiences. He’ll share the techniques he has developed to reshape traditional narratives so they resonate today, while remaining true to their roots.
The weekend promises a rare opportunity to learn from a master of the craft and to discover the enduring power of a well-told tale. Book a place (€125) here.
