Sign up quick for a fascinating Beatles-themed walking tour of Kinsale

Here’s a walk that comes with a cracking soundtrack.
On Saturday, January 31st, Kinsale historian Barry Moloney will join forces with UK Beatles historian Steve Bradley for the Beatles 1966 Walking Tour, a stroll through the town that promises nostalgia, odd connections and a surprising amount of Beatles lore for a small West Cork harbour.
The idea is simple and quietly brilliant. Barry and Steve will guide the group around Kinsale, revisiting key moments from the Beatles’ world-changing year of 1966, while drawing comparisons — and some unlikely links — with events unfolding in Kinsale and Ireland at the very same time.
It’s part history lesson, part musical time travel, part gentle exercise and it’s all part of Kinsale Beatles Fest, which runs from January 30th to February 1st, 2026.

This isn’t a hardcore fan-only affair. It’s for anyone who’s ever hummed along to a Beatles song or simply enjoys hearing smart people talk passionately about something they love.
The tour starts at 11.30am, meeting at the Tourist Office in Kinsale, and runs for a very manageable 90 minutes — long enough to feel like you’ve done something with your day, short enough that you won’t need a recovery nap.
It’s also back by popular demand, with just 40 tickets available, so hesitation is not your friend here. Tickets are €22.42 over here.
