Rosie O’Donnell is bringing a new stand-up show to Cork in the New Year

She’s loving life here.
There’s something quietly reassuring about a comic of Rosie O’Donnell’s stature deciding, after decades in the glare of American celebrity, that what she really needs is a bit of Ireland.
Even more reassuring is that she’s turning the whole experience of fleeing Trump’s America for a Georgian house in Dublin into a stand-up show.
On Sunday, March 29th, 2026, Rosie O’Donnell brings Common Knowledge to the Opera House stage, her first stand-up outing in almost ten years. It’s a long-awaited return from a performer who has spent most of her life under a spotlight — as a comedian, broadcaster, actor and cultural lightning rod — and who now finds herself recalibrating in a newly adopted hometown of Dublin.

O’Donnell may be a global star, but here she’s just another blow-in trying to figure out the bins and the weather. The new show is rooted in that shift. O’Donnell reflects on moving country, navigating Irish life, family, and ageing.
Common Knowledge lands on Leeside on Sunday, March 29th at 8pm, with tickets priced at €33 (plus booking fees). They’re on sale now via corkoperahouse.ie or through the box office on 021 427 0022.
