It’s small plates and big flavours at this gastropub’s tasty little wine dinner

If you want to impress a wine lover, bring them here.
Victor Murphy and Máire O’Mahony of O’Mahony’s of Watergrasshill are teaming up with Winelab and Ray O’Connor – one of only nine Irish Masters of Wine—for a one-night-only tasting blowout on Thursday, November 27th.
O’Connor, a Glounthaune native with a globe-trotting résumé, has been busy lately, quietly launching two new projects—Bota Bota in Cariñena, Spain, and Serraluna in Abruzzo and Tuscany—that already have wine geeks talking.
At O’Mahony’s, he’s bringing the good stuff. Diners at ‘Meet the Winemaker’ will make their way through a tight lineup of winter small plates curated by head chef Seán Moran, each one matched with a pour handpicked by O’Connor himself—think thoughtful pairings, unexpected bottles, and the kind of insider energy that gets Cork’s food crowd fired up.

Ray has been creating wines for years and firmly believes in a less is more philosophy. Minimal intervention that allows for wines with purity, subtlety and elegance.
“Ray will be pouring a selection of his own Spanish and Italian wine’s to accompany a winter set pairing menu curated by head chef Seán Moran.” they told us.
“Máire O’Mahony, co-owner of the award winning bar and restaurant and Ray O’Connor are old school friends and this is their first collaboration.”
