Local witches will assemble on a Cork beach for a Halloween night ritual

Double, double, toil and trouble…
Local witches will gather on a Cork beach this Halloween night for a spellbinding ritual celebrating the season of magic, mystery, and moonlight.
As part of the Spirit of Samhain festival in Youghal, an authentic witches ritual will take place on Halloween night, October 31st, featuring local practicing witches, bringing their magic to the Mall Beach.
As darkness descends at 7pm, the shoreline transforms into a mystical landscape where the veil between the two worlds thins. The air is charged with an otherworldly energy as the witches and druids prepare to celebrate Samhain with an Otherworld March through the streets of Youghal from 8pm.

Spend a spooky day in Youghal
Earlier in the day on Halloween (1.30pm – 2.30pm) you can meet An Bhean Uisce, the witch of the sea on the sand too at an all-ages event. Write your hopes, dreams, and wishes on a scrap of paper and drop them into her enchanted cauldron. According to local lore, she will take them back out to sea to work her magic all year long.
From 2.30pm -5pm there’s a Trick or Treat face painting event at Cromwell’s Arch, a special event designed to give parents a break while their kids get into the Halloween spirit (€2 donation).
Meet the cheerful crew of Scarecrow Row— patchwork hats, button eyes, and giggles galore, plus a free trick-or-treat bag for brave kids. Then from 3pm–4pm, step inside Youghal Library for Before Halloween, There Was Samhain, a fascinating storytelling session exploring ancient traditions and local ghost tales.
As dusk falls, from 5pm–7pm, while children trick-or-treat through town, mysterious figures gather on the Mall Beach, preparing for the Samhain Ritual at 7pm, where whispers tell of An Bhean Uisce and the Cailleach, the Crone of Winter, arriving to welcome the dark season.
