Cork’s first authentic Egyptian food truck opens this Saturday

The wait is almost over.
This Saturday, October 18th, Cork’s Paul Street is about to get a whole lot more flavourful as Cairo 2 Cork rolls into The Fifth Quarter — the city’s first-ever authentic Egyptian food truck.
Bringing the bold spices, rich traditions, and soul-warming comfort of Cairo straight to Leeside, Cairo 2 Cork will serve up everything from fragrant falafel and Pyramid Pittas to the ultimate Egyptian Munch Box and sizzling shawarma.
It’s all the delicious work of Nivene Sadick, whose love of Egyptian cooking — inspired by her own upbringing surrounded by aromatic, hearty dishes — is now ready to share with Cork foodies.
The food truck will open at 12pm on Saturday (perfect timing for lunch) with lots of fun planned, including face painting for kids, music and dancing, lots of free tasters and some extra special Egyptian entertainment.

Nivene Sadick, Cairo 2 Cork
Nivene’s love of Egyptian food comes from growing up surrounded by the smells, flavours, and traditions of family cooking, something she is passing on to her own two children, son Yaseen (16) and daughter Zaina (6.)
“In Egypt, food is such a big part of daily life and celebrations, and I’ve always been fascinated by the way a meal can bring people together.” she told Yay Cork.
“There’s a wonderful food scene here in Cork, but I don’t know of any Egyptian cuisine here yet. That’s one of the reasons I’m so passionate about Cairo 2 Cork — I wanted to share the flavours I grew up with and offer something unique that you can’t really find anywhere else in the city and other counties.”
From October 18th, Cairo 2 Cork will open from 11am to 8pm from Monday to Sunday.
