Wendy’s opens its first Irish restaurant in Mahon Point Shopping Centre today

How about a square hamburger for lunch?
US chain Wendy’s is opening its first Irish restaurant in Mahon Point Shopping Centre at 10.30am this morning, the first location under a partnership between Corrib Oil and Wendy’s.
As part of its commitment to the Irish market, Wendy’s will use 100% fresh Irish beef and hand-breaded chicken burgers across its menu. The brand is best known for its square burgers, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and the iconic creamy Frosty dessert.
There will also be breakfast options and a variety of wraps and kids’ meals – all of which will be available to hungry Cork customers in the Rebel County from today.

Corrib Oil, one of Ireland’s leading service station and energy distribution providers, was announced last year as Wendy’s franchise partner in Ireland. The new site has created over 50 new jobs in Cork.
“We’re proud to see the Wendy’s brand come to life in Cork through our partnership with Corrib Oil.” said Michael Clarke, Managing Director – Europe, The Wendy’s Company.
“As the first city in Ireland to welcome Wendy’s, Cork represents an important step in our continued growth across Europe. Corrib Oil is an ideal partner to deliver our ‘globally great, locally even better’ experience, and we look forward to supporting their team as they introduce Wendy’s signature hospitality and fresh, craveable food to Irish customers.”
