This Blackrock seafront bar serves a seriously stunning sharing board

By Yay Cork September 5, 2025September 2, 2025

We’re big fans of the picky dinner.

Sometimes, at the end of a long week, the best type of meal is a selection of delectable snacks served alongside a creamy pint or a good glass of wine.

And if that’s your vibe, you’ll want to add The Pier Head in Blackrock to your list. This waterfront bar has been turning heads all summer with its generous sharing boards, piled high with local treats and plenty to go around.

There’s the Charcuterie Board (€20), which involves premium cured Italian meats – Levoni prosciutto, Tuscan salami, and bresaola – served with three signature homemade dips, roasted seasonal vegetables, sweet candied walnuts, and warm Pana bread.

Then there’s the Artisan Cheese Board (€20), a handpicked variety of fine Irish cheeses: French Brie, Gubbeen, Cashel Blue, and Carrigaline Smoked and Original, served with a trio of dips, truffle honey, marmalade, red pesto, caramelised red onion, seasonal fruits, candied walnuts, crackers, and Pana bread – outrageously good with wine.

If you like a bit of both, you can order the Pier Head Combo Board (€20) the perfect pairing of charcuterie and cheese boards – ideal for sharing.

They also do a truly stunning Trio of Bruschetta (€17) topped with basil pesto, smoked chicken, prosciutto or spicy salami and some gorgeous flatbreads and salads.

Best enjoyed with friends so you can sample the whole menu.
