Here’s a dreamy new pet-friendly cabin to add to your staycation list
It’s always a good time for a jaunt West.
And if you’re planning to nip down to West Cork for a mini-break soon, there’s a brand new Airbnb to check out.
An Bothán is a delightful design-led cabin nestled in the leafy grounds of a former cattle farm, just five minutes drive (a 15 -minute stroll) from Clonakilty town.
Lovingly created and styled by local designer Nina Cáit Gilbert, the cabin is located in an old walled garden on the family’s property, down a long, leafy private laneway, and sleeps four guests.

“Bothán means a cosy hut, a lively booth.” Nina Cáit told us.
“Everything is very considered and it’s a mix of a table from Lisheen House, lots of collected art and collectables and my grandfather’s old rocking chair.”
The best bit? An Bothán is pet-friendly so you can bring along your well behaved furry friends to enjoy some epic walkies on the many beaches in the area.
With one separate double room, a sofa bed and a loft bed for older children as well as a well equipped kitchenette, a full bathroom with organic toiletries and two lovely seating areas to enjoy outside, An Bothán is open for bookings now.
