Ballincollig is closing its Main Street for a fun Open Streets party

Ballincollig families, mark your calendars.
Sunday, September 21st is shaping up to be a big one; from 2pm–4pm, the main street will swap cars for community as Open Streets rolls into town.
Expect a lively afternoon packed with free fun, family activities, sports demos, games, music, and a few surprise pop-up moments along the way.
Organised by the Ballincollig Business Association, the event is designed to be enjoyed by all ages. Kids will have plenty to keep them entertained, while parents can soak up the festival vibes, explore local shops, and maybe even grab a coffee or treat while they wander.

This year’s theme—sustainability and accessibility—means the spotlight is on making Ballincollig a safer, more enjoyable space for everyone. With support from Comhairle na nÓg, the Ballincollig Sustainable Transport Group, and other local partners, the afternoon promises to be a real community celebration.
So, gather the kids, leave the car at home, and head into town for an afternoon of free entertainment and neighbourly fun.
