With free entry, the Wakeboarding Nationals are giving lakeside festival vibes

Round up the whole gang for this.
If you love the outdoors and a healthy dose of excitement for all ages, Mallow is the place to be this weekend.
From August 29th to 31st, Ballyhass Wakepark will host the IWWF Irish Wakeboarding Nationals 2025, where Ireland’s best riders will hit the water in a thrilling display of speed, skill, and style.
With free entry for spectators, festival-style lakeside vibes, and special family-friendly offers — including €5 adventure activities and €2 swim sessions so you can cool off in the natural spring-fed lake between competitions, it’s set to be a fun end-of-summer celebration before the back-to-school routine begins.

“For many, the Nationals will be a first glimpse into the world of wakeboarding – and you don’t need to know the sport to be hooked.” they told us.
“The Rookies Open shines a spotlight on new riders, showing just how accessible and welcoming this sport is. Families, young adults, and adventure-seekers alike will find themselves caught up in the buzz, proving that wakeboarding is as much about the community on the dock as it is about the riders on the water.”
If the weekend leaves you feeling inspired to try wakeboarding yourself, the Wake Crew will be on hand to chat about their Learn to Wakeboard sessions.
The on-site café will be serving up pizzas, barista coffee, and more all weekend too so bring your togs and a towel and make a day of it. The competition will be running from 12pm–6pm on Saturday and 11am–4pm on Sunday.
