Take a private tour of Cork Rooftop Farm and Glenbrook Farm on this fiver bus tour

Curious about urban farming?
On Friday, July 18th, two of Cork’s most interesting sustainable city farming outfits will be opening their doors to show a small group of visitors how everything works behind the scenes.
Kicking off at 12pm, the visit to Cork City’s Rooftop Farm and sister-site Glenbrook Farm, will be guided by founder and innovative farmer, Brian McCarthy.
Cork Rooftop Farm started in 2020, exploring the possibility of growing fruits, herbs and vegetables in an urban setting, to sell at local markets and to restaurants.

What is Cork Rooftop Farm?
In 2021, Brian expanded the business to a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model, whereby members were supporting the viability of the farm through a subscription, providing more security for operating the no-dig market garden.
Fast-forward to today, and they are converting 60 acres of land to organic production, in Glenbrook, just north of Cork city, where they operate a veg box scheme and organise educational events, as well as continuing to innovate with methods and tools, such as the solar-powered robotic seeder and weeder.
Brian has been sharing the highs and lows of establishing the farm on social media since the beginning, and has gained almost 50,000 social media followers as well as mainstream media attention.
Want to go along? Bring a packed lunch, water, and suitable clothing and footwear for walking around the farm. The tour costs just €5 per person including the coach trip from town and you can reserve your spot now here.
