If you’re looking for a way to occupy the kids during the school summer holidays and you’re partial to a cupcake or two, get this little treat in the calendar.

Rúairí’s Kitchen on High Street is hosting a series of summer Cupcake Decorating Workshops for small groups of children aged between eight and 12 throughout July and August.

The afternoons, which run on Mondays and Tuesday from 2.30pm to 4pm, will see kids getting expert instruction on how to turn a humble cake into a cupcake masterpiece, all under the guidance of award-winning Cork baker Ruairí Byrne.

The best bit? All little bakers go home with a box of four cupcakes to share.
