Rory Gallagher’s guitars and rare memorabilia will go on display in Cork this June

It’s 30 years since we lost the late, great Rory Gallagher.
Now Cork is getting ready to mark the rock star’s anniversary with a truly unmissable exhibition.
Rory Gallagher’s guitars – including that well-loved, battle-scarred Fender Stratocaster – along with a treasure trove of his personal effects and memorabilia, will be gracing Cork this June at Cork Public Museum in Fitzgerald’s Park.
The exhibition, ‘The Continental Op’, opens on on June 14th featuring Rory’s guitars, his 1942 Martin Mandolin, and never before seen images and items.

The exhibition will continue until December 2025 so there’s loads of time to get up close and personal with the tools that shaped a legend, right here in the Rebel County.
It’s a chance to connect with the incredible legacy of one of Ireland’s most revered musical sons and guaranteed to be a special pilgrimage for anyone who ever felt the raw power of Rory’s blues-infused rock ‘n’ roll.
A Rory Gallagher Walking Trail of Cork city is also planned, with details on that to be announced soon.
