While Irish summer hasn’t even really started yet (technically, we have another week or so of spring to go), Cork has been basking in glorious sunshine for over a fortnight.
Now forecasters say we’ll start to see a gradual return to average temperatures, starting this afternoon with heavy showers, spot flooding and isolated thunderstorms possible.
“The showers will be hit and miss and many parts of the south and southwest of the province will remain dry.” said a Met Éireann spokesperson.
“Highest temperatures of 19 to 22 Celsius generally in light to moderate variable breezes but a little cooler near the south and southwest coasts.”
Mostly sunny to begin today, Monday, apart from patchy cloud & the chance of isolated showers near the east coast. 🌦️

Most places will become dry tonight and it will be largely dry to begin with on Tuesday before more showers develop, some of them heavy with more spot flooding and isolated thunderstorms possible.
“Cloud will gradually build during the afternoon and patchy rain and drizzle will push in from the southwest towards evening. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 Celsius in light southerly or variable breezes.” they added.
Dry and sunny weather will return around midweek, with temperatures of up to 22C on Wednesday, turning mixed and changeable from the Atlantic next weekend.
