Never ones to shy away from a bit of the ol’ culinary innovation, are we?

While the rest of the world might be debating the merits of avocado toast or the latest fermented kombucha concoction, here on Leeside, we’ve reached a new frontier.

There’s a spot in the city now taking your humble sandwich and plunging it, lock, stock, and barrel, into the deep fryer.

You read that right. Deep-fried. Sandwiches.

“Oh, you simply must try our deep-fried sandwich at The Elysian.” The Bookshelf crew announced on social media.

“It’s a golden, crispy delight! Rosscarbery Ham and melted cheese tucked into a sandwich, coated in panko breadcrumbs, and served with our tangy tomato chutney and crispy potato wedges.
