Seeds are being planted.

A forest of music, language, art, and ritual, will appear in Cork City from September 11th – 14th and today, Sounds From a Safe Harbour Festival has revealed the artists-in-residence for SFSH25, all of whom will make Cork their creative home during the event.

Oscar winner Cillian Murphy, a member of the curatorial team for the festival’s 10th anniversary, is among the star-studded list.

As well as being part of the action, Murphy joins Festival Director Mary Hickson, Bryce Dessner (The National), celebrated author Max Porter, and artist and folklorist Billy MagFhlionn to bring new collaborations to the heart of SFSH, where more than 60 Irish and international musicians, artists, filmmakers, and writers, will come together to experiment and create in the ‘37d03d residency’.

“The residency represents the beating heart of SFSH, it’s why we do it.” said Hickson.

“This year is the largest residency we have hosted in Cork and we are excited to welcome new and old friends to Cork for the week to collaborate, agitate, create and fail together – but mainly to stop for a week and spend time making. We are grateful to all the artists for trusting us and diving into this wholeheartedly, it’s going to be an incredible week, we can already feel it!”
