New to Cork? Meet new friends (and make a difference) at Volunteer Expo 2025

So, you’ve just landed in our fair city?
Welcome, welcome. Whether you’re here for college, a new job, or just fancy a change of scenery, we all know that settling into a new place can sometimes feel a bit… daunting.
But fear not, because we’ve got just the ticket to help you find some community.
The Volunteer Expo 2025 is happening on May 28th at Millennium Hall, City Hall, from 12:30pm to 4pm, offering chance to dive headfirst into the heart of Cork’s community spirit and discover the incredible network of non-profits, charities, and community groups that make this city so special.

You can chat with representatives from organisations doing everything from helping our furry friends to supporting local arts, from cleaning up our beautiful coastline to empowering young people. You’ll find opportunities that match your interests and skills, whether you’re a social butterfly, a creative whiz, or a behind-the-scenes kind of person.
But here’s the real magic: volunteering is one of the best ways to connect with like-minded people. You’ll be working alongside fellow Corkonians who share your values, your passions, and your desire to make a difference.
As Adam Lacey, Manager of Cork Volunteer Centre, puts it, “Volunteering is a powerful way to give back to the community, and this event provides the perfect platform to connect people with meaningful opportunities. We encourage everyone to come along, meet like-minded individuals, and take the first step towards making a real difference.”
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome. For more information, check out volunteercork.ie.
