A brand new drink made in Cork, Miskey promises ‘less burn, more buzz’

It’s as fun to drink as it is to say.
Miskey, an intriguing alternative to whiskey, is the newest drink on the market and its Cork inventors are hoping it will catch on in Irish bars this summer.
Kate and Denis Dempsey from Kinsale Mead have just released the final and most original expression in their Miskey range of meads, aged in Midleton whiskey casks.
The journey began in 2022 with a chance conversation with the talented team from Midleton Distillery about what might be created by bringing mead and whiskey together.

Promising “less burn, more buzz”, at 12% ABV, Miskey meads offer balanced honey, oak and whiskey flavours. The new Wildflower Irish Mead is aged in special Irish oak whiskey casks from Midleton Distillery.
So how does it taste?
“Imagine floral aromas, a silky mouthfeel, delicate whiskey warmth and layers of butterscotch, rose petals, hawthorn and vanilla. It’s an Irish drink that’s unlike anything you’ll have tasted before.” they told us.
“This is our triple Irish Miskey – 100% Irish honey, Irish oak, Irish whiskey and a world first for sure,” says Denis.
Light, semi-sweet, and gluten-free, the Miskey range will appeal to those who love whiskey flavours but are looking for something softer, lighter and more nuanced.
‘We’re delighted with the reaction so far”, says Kate, “and really proud of what we have created with this very special Miskey.”
