TBH, we should all be taking this Cork workshop on how to hang a shelf

It’s trickier than it looks.
But if you’re tired of having to pay an expert every time you need a quick job done around the house, an upcoming workshop will give you some skills you can use for many years to come.
Benchspace Bites is hosting a beginner’s workshop called How to Hang a Shelf in their Marina Commercial Park HQ on Saturday afternoon, May 10th, 2025 from 2pm to 5pm.
The class will offer handy tips and tricks about how to work out whether a wall is load bearing or whether it’s more likely to be a stud partition, explain how to accurately mark when to place your chosen fixings, and highlight the pitfalls to try and avoid.
“Under the guidance of woodwork tutor Elaine, participants will get hands on with the tools, and in small groups will get to try out the tools involved and hang a shelf, troubleshooting as they go.” say the organisers.
“If you would like to bring your own drill to get familiar with using it, please feel free. If you don’t have your own drill, don’t worry – we have lots!”
Materials are included in the cost of the workshop and no experience is necessary. All adults (over 18) are welcome and the class costs €60, which is less than the cost of calling a handyman to install one shelf in one room, once.
Book your spot or €60 now here.
