Met Éireann says it will be dry but ‘noticeably colder’ until Paddy’s Day

Don’t go cutting the lawn just yet.
Met Éireann says we’re in for some nippy weather between now and St Patrick’s Day with night time temperatures plummeting as low as -2 in parts of Cork on Wednesday night.
The good news is that high pressure is dominating, bringing a good deal of dry weather, but there will be some showers in a cold north to northeast airflow and it will be quite cold with frost on some nights.
Today, Monday, will be mostly dry with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees. Tonight will be cold and dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells and some mist or fog patches and perhaps a little drizzle, with lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees.
“On Tuesday morning, any frost and mist or fog patches will clear to give a dry day with sunny spells.” said a forecaster.
Patches of mist or fog for a time this morning🌫️ These will clear with sunny spells developing⛅️
A few patches of drizzle are possible, mostly likely in Ulster & in S Munster🌧️
Highs of 9 to 11°C in Ulster & east Leinster & from 12 to 15°C elsewhere🌡️

“It will be noticeably colder with highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees with light to moderate northerly breezes.”
Wednesday’s not letting up either, with a cold, breezy day and more of those scattered showers. Temps will be hovering between 5 and 8 degrees, and Wednesday night’s bringing us some frost, with temps dipping as low as -1.
Thursday and Friday are looking mostly dry, but we’ll still get a few showers. Daytime temps will be around 6 to 9 degrees, but Friday night’s gonna be a proper cold one, with temps dropping to -2 to 0.
Finally, some good news: Saturday and Sunday are shaping up to be mostly dry with some sunny spells to kick off the St Patrick’s Day celebrations.
Daytime temperatures will be a bit warmer, between 7 and 10 degrees, but those nights will still be frosty.
