Check out all the Cork homes featured in RTÉ’s Great House Revival this year

It’s back on our screens this Sunday.
And we are fully ready for another inspiring journey through the highs and lows of home renovation as The Great House Revival returns, this time with three sets of courageous Cork homeowners taking on the challenge.
In the new series, architect Hugh Wallace will meet the owners of a quaint former post office in Butlerstown, Co. Cork, stroll down Douglas Street to see if artist Cora Murphy’s dream will come true as she converts a Victorian townhouse and shopfront into her home and studio, and head to West Cork to meet the owners of Rockhouse, a dilapidated country house being given a new lease of life as a spacious family home.
With budgets ranging from €75,000 to €400,000, Hugh will find out just what is possible to achieve when people set their hearts on their new dream home.
In episode one, local lad Timmie O’Brien has many happy memories of his local Post Office that has been lying dormant for many years.
He and his partner Siobhan decide it is time to breathe some life into the old village hub. After buying the property for €195,000, they set out to convert it into their forever home with their two young sons, Jimmy and Miah.

“What makes this show so special is that these homeowners aren’t just restoring bricks and mortar; they are preserving a piece of our collective history while making the most sustainable choice possible—the greenest building is the one that already exists.” says Hugh.
“The series proves that by choosing to renovate rather than rebuild, homeowners achieve not only a more character-filled and meaningful space but also better value for money.”
Later in the series we’ll be invited inside Rockhouse, Grace and John Cotter’s 300-year-old coach house and farm house in West Cork.

Elsewhere in Ireland, in the Burren, Co. Clare a herdsman’s cottage is transformed into a unique and modern retreat and in Lough Key, Co. Roscommon, a derelict cowshed on a grand estate finds new life as a contemporary family home.
Tune in to RTÉ One and RTÉ Player on Sunday, February 9th, at 9.30pm for a new extended eight-week series.
