Cork Airport ready for influx of 33,000 passengers over the St. Brigid’s bank holiday

It’ll be a busy weekend at Cork Airport.
With passenger traffic forecast to be ten per cent higher than the same bank holiday weekend in 2024, up to 33,000 passengers are expected over the St. Brigid’s Bank Holiday Weekend.
The first bank holiday of the year also offers passengers the chance to escape to warmer, sunnier destinations served direct from Cork Airport. There has been significant demand for flights to southern Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands during the month of January.
Ski destinations have also been popular, with direct connections to Munich, Lyon and Salzburg proving popular with passengers heading for the slopes this winter.

“At this time of year, with the dark evenings and inclement weather, many of us start planning our next sun break.” said Niall MacCarthy, Managing Director at Cork Airport.
“In addition to the wide selection of routes to choose from already, this summer, passengers can also look forward to five new and exciting routes from Cork Airport to Bilbao, Bordeaux, Izmir, Corfu and Dalaman.”
