We ordered this cult robot hoover and mop to see what all the fuss is about

So, here’s the thing…

I never thought I’d be one of those people who gets excited about a hoover.

Owning a robot that could clean my house for me still sounded a bit like sorcery. Plus, there are countless brands now selling robot vacuums online, the tricky part is figuring out which one works best for the right price. And where to start?

Intrigued after seeing the Honiture Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop recommended with rave reviews from Cork customers, I ordered one to try it for myself.

The verdict? The reviews are legit. It’s flipping amazing.

On sale now at 26% off on Amazon, it’s €238, which gets you 500Pa ultra-strong suction and auto carpet boost, which is great for pet hair and daily floor dirt (think muddy wellies, buggy wheels, toast crumbs and spills). It also connects to Alexa and can be operated via an app, but it’s not essential if you’re an old school ‘push the button’ type.

How does it work?

Firstly, you don’t need to do any finicky set-up. You just plug in the charging station, pop in the little dust bin and off it goes, zig-zagging around the house. The vacuum maps your room itself and if there’s anything in its way, it’ll simply work around it.

It’s quiet too and it can work continuously for 150 minutes before heading back to its little station to charge.

Using the mop function is easy too. You just fill the mop attachment with water, click it in and off it goes, mopping and hoovering its way around your floors.

It’s not advised to put floor cleaning solutions into the water container so we just spritzed the floor with a natural floor cleaner first, then the Honiture takes care the rest. When it’s finished, you simply empty the little dust holder into the bin or pop the mop top in the washing machine and pop it back on the charger.

We’ve been using it for six weeks now and let me tell you, it sweeps up an impressive amount of dust and it also does an excellent job on larger stuff such as Cheerios and Christmas tree pine needles.

The magic is in pressing the ‘on’ button, heading off to work or the school run and arriving home to spotless floors.

The Honiture Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop is on SALE right now on Amazon at €238.14. You certainly won’t find a human to clean every floor in your house twice a day (for years with the right care) for less.
