Fans say this Cork wine bar’s delicious BUTTER Board should be illegal

If something’s really tasty, it’s probably full of butter.
But there’s a whole year available for being good and Christmas is a time for making dreams come true, right?
That’s the vibe over at Old Brennan’s Wine House on Oliver Plunkett Street, where, nestled amongst the cheese boards and charcuterie boards on their menu, you’ll find something truly unique: The Brennan’s Butter Board.
A dish designed to delight butter fans and bread addicts alike, Brennan’s Butter Board is served with a loaf of fresh sourdough, caramelised shallot and chive butter, leek oil and crispy onions.
It’s a bargain at €10 and it’s served on a wooden board so you can simply pull apart your slices of warm bread and dunk them directly in the magnificent combo spread out before you. Buttery bliss.

“Customers have called it “crack on a board”, “dirty”, “filthy gorgeous” and said that it “should be illegal”.” the Old Brennan’s crew said in an Instagram post.
“But we’ve no problem being a bit bold here at Old Brennans. Indulge your naughty notions and come try our Butter Board for yourself!”
It’s the perfect spot for a few glasses of something special over a few small plates so order the Tom Durcan’s Spiced Beef Carpaccio (served with horseradish cream, crispy bread croutons and roasted grapes) too.
Old Brennan’s Wine House is open seven days a week.
