‘Hot burgers, cold beers!’ A brand new burger bar opens on Courthouse Street this Friday

We’re hungry already.
Brand new restaurant The Hungry Hippo Burger Bar & Grill opens on Courthouse Street in Cork City this Friday, with a sizzling menu of smash burgers, loaded fries, ribs and wings on the menu.

Nestled next to the Courthouse in the former Bailey and Grand Central Social building, guests can look forward to unique sharing platters perfect for group gatherings during party season.
Head Chef Maciej Sitarek will lead The Hungry Hippo’s kitchen and has 20 years of experience working in Cork city and county:
“We’re excited to welcome everyone to The Hungry Hippo this holiday season,” says Chef Maciej.

“Our menu has something for everyone, from hearty burgers to tasty wings, all made fresh to order. We can’t wait for guests to taste what we have in store.”
It’s good news for veggies and vegans too: “I always ensure there’s a wide array of delicious vegan options on the menu because I don’t believe anyone should be limited in choice due to their dietary preferences.” says Chef Maciej.
“From our vegan burgers to creative plant-based specials, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”
The Hungry Hippo is now hiring food, beverage, and kitchen staff. Experience is a plus but not essential, as full training will be provided. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by sending their CVs to team@hippocork.com.
