This Cork spot’s Carbonara Fries are the cheat meal we’re craving this week

Salad season is over. It’s time to bring on the carbs.
And this week, the most crave-worthy option in town is a dish so decadently bold, so unapologetically carb-loaded, it practically shouts, “Calories don’t count if it’s this delicious.”
Ladies and gentlemen, we give you: Palmento Pizza’s Carbonara Fries.
Available now at the restaurant’s No. 2 Church Street restaurant in Douglas, this €7 festival of deliciousness involves a steaming pile of golden, crispy fries, smothered in a creamy, cheesy carbonara sauce, flecked with pancetta bits that are just the right level of crispy.

“Our Carbonara Fries and Carbonara Neapolitan Pizza combine crispy guanciale, rich egg yolk, pecorino, black pepper, and mozzarella for a bold twist on tradition.” say the Palmento crew.
“Fresh, creamy, and absolutely crave-worthy, they’re two of our most-loved dishes here.”
You know you want it. In fact, you deserve it. Palmento Pizza is open Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm for dine-in, takeaway and delivery. Order an Oreo and Nutella Pizza Ring for afterwards.
