A Cork demonstration will honour the victims of the Valencia flood tragedy

The search for those missing is still underway.
This weekend, Cork’s Spanish community will gather in the city centre to observe a minute’s silence in memory of the 214 people who have been declared dead following the tragic flash flood in Valencia.
With relief efforts in the region only now reaching previously inaccessible areas, the death toll is expected to rise as 7,500 soldiers scour basements, car parks and devastated homes for survivors.
“If your heart is broken like mine for the current situation in Valencia, Spain, I am organising a demonstration next Saturday, November 9th at 12pm on the Grand Parade in Cork City.” organiser Anna Maria shared on social media.
“The demonstration will last 30-45 minutes and we will dedicate a few minutes of silence for all the victims of this tragedy. We will end with an emotive clapping for the real heroes of this story, the volunteers who have done so much to help.
“The idea is to show Valencia that we see them, we feel them and that we stand with them.”
The demonstration will begin on Saturday, November 9th at 12pm outside Electric on the South Mall.
