Rainy week ahead for Cork as Met Éireann forecasts heavy downpours

Hope you enjoyed the Sunday sunshine.
Because Met Éireann is predicting a wet and windy week ahead in Cork, as the remnants of Hurricane Ernesto, which wreaked havoc in Bermuda and Puerto Rico last week, impact our weather.
According to the national forecaster, it will turn wet and windy pretty quickly today as rain becomes widespread this morning, accompanied by strengthening south to southeast winds.
Turning wet & windy this morning with rain becoming widespread🌧️, strengthening southerly winds🍃 with a chance of heavy or thundery falls⛈️ & some coastal flooding especially in the south & east🌊.
Becoming drier from the southwest later.

“There is the potential for some heavy or thundery falls and coastal flooding, especially in parts of the south. The rain will ease from the southwest through the late afternoon and evening and winds will moderate westerly.” said a forecaster.
Highest temperatures will range from 18 to 20 or 21 degrees.
Tonight will bring more scattered showers and lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees, with a breezy day with spells of sunshine and scattered showers, some heavy, in store for Tuesday.
Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, but we should see some sunshine again by Thursday, which is looking largely dry with sunny spells and well-scattered showers and highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees.
