You can catch Membranes founder John Robb’s speaking tour for free in Fermoy

He’s had a wild life.
Now musician, journalist, author and cultural icon John Robb is spilling the beans on decades of behind-the-scenes encounters and happenings in Cork this September… and you can go along for the princely sum of €1.
Robb is about to embark on an Irish spoken-word tour dubbed “Do You Believe In The Power of Rock & Roll?” and you can catch it free of charge aside from the booking fee at the Richmond Revival in Fermoy on Saturday, September 14th.

Sponsored by Bunker Vinyl on Camden Place, the audience can expect a two-part show: The first half is a slide-filled exploration of alternative rock, tracing its journey from the late 70s punk scene to the birth of electronic music and beyond. In the second half, Robb interviews a special guest – a musician, artist, or cultural trailblazer – about their unique journey in the music world.
Special guests on the day will be Elvera Butler (Downtown Kampus/Reekus Records) and John Perry (The Only Ones).
In a brand new show, Robb will also discuss his best-selling book The Art Of Darkness/The History Of Goth, being the first person to interview Nirvana, coining Britpop, his adventures on the post-punk frontline and much more.
Best part? Practically free! Tickets are just €1 – a nominal booking fee to secure your seat and doors are at 4.15pm for a 5pm show. You can book your ticket for the Fermoy show here.
The Richmond Revival, which is in the centre of Fermoy, operates a pop-up café (cash only) and is easily accessible via Bus Éireann. There are also a number of accommodations options available onsite ranging from budget double and twin rooms with a shared bathroom to high-end luxury suite. Campers and camper vans are also welcome. Email the venue directly for further information.
