Forecasters are predicting Cork’s summer might really start next week

It’s been a washout so far.
But the latest weather forecast from Met Éireann suggests that summer 2024 might be about to recover during the final days of July.
According to the national forecaster, temperatures will start getting warmer and more settled from Monday, July 29th on, although we will have to suffer more rain, cloud and drizzle in the meantime.
Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather agrees, confirming that the weekend is “still looking pretty decent at present.”

First, however, rain will spread across Cork from the Atlantic this afternoon, turning heavy at times in the evening with highest temperatures 19 to 22 degrees.
In better news, Tuesday will be mainly dry with some sunshine and highs of up to 22C.
It’s back to drizzle for Wednesday and Thursday however, both of which will be warm (up to 22C) and wet, with
sunshine and showers on Friday and slightly cooler temperatures of between 17 and 19 degrees.
“Current indications suggest that there will be just isolated showers on Saturday with longer sunny spells in between, and the potential for a drier day overall on Sunday and becoming warmer by Monday.” said a forecaster.
