Michelin star chef announces brand new Cork restaurant ‘where dreams will come true’

The opening date will be announced soon.
Michelin-starred chef Ahmet Dede just announced a brand new restaurant will open in Baltimore this summer.
Taking over the building formerly occupied by Mews, another Michelin-starred spot which closed in 2020, Baba’de, the latest venture by Dede and his business partner Maria Archer, will welcome its first diners in just a few weeks.
With a Turkish-inspired menu, Baba’de will offer a more casual dining experience, enticing fans of Dede at the Customs House, awarded Ireland’s Best Restaurant this year by Food and Wine magazine, to linger in the village for an extra night.

The name is inspired by the Irish and Turkish words for baby and grandmother, a tribute to Dede’s family and its ties to the Cork coastal town they call home.
“… after months of hard work and planning we are almost there in a couple of weeks our new restaurant will be open,” Dede announced on social media.
“Me and Maria are so happy and excited to get the door of baba’de open. baba’de will be an amazing restaurant where our dreams will come true, where our team, customers and ourselves will have such an incredible time.
“We will be serving unique dishes and flavours that [are] very exciting, creative and delicious, selected wine list and cocktails and more.”
“Opening date and more details to follow so for now be excited and patient. Looking forward to welcoming you all and can’t wait to light the bbq and go go!”
