Cork animal lovers are chipping in to build a house for these lovely abandoned goats

Calling Cork’s bleating-heart brigade.
Animal lovers are rowing in to help the owners of a small animal sanctuary after they kindly took in a family of abandoned goats.
Dionne Irwin and her partner Robbie run Little Ones Microsanctuary in Macroom, where two of the goats, Barnaby and Stanley, are growing fast and are now in need of a new house within their pen.
“A few months ago somebody abandoned a group of goats near this sanctuary in a terrible state including a pregnant mother and super young goat and with limited resources, Dionne and Rob took them in, got them back to health sorting their feet, teeth and everything else and supporting the mother to give birth in safety.” said fundraiser Emma Pearce of @positivelyeventful.

“They have done as much as they can themselves and now need some support as there is still a goat house and parts of the set-up needed to ensure all of the goats have appropriate space, shelter and food.”
A bunch of legends have kicked things off, raising €600 of the €3,000 target, but Dionne and Rob don’t receive any funding so any money that can’t be raised comes from their savings.
“The money raised will help with groundwork (we live on a bit of a hill) and purchase a new house large enough to have hay racks and room for the boys who will both weigh 80kg each very soon!” explained Dionne.

Barnaby and Stanley are part of a family of two humans, bunnies, dogs, cats, birds and an African land snail.
“We have already self-funded our other goat family house and wish to have our two boys cosy too,” Dionne added.
