Dermot O’Leary has given fans a sneak peek of his foodie TV shoot in Kinsale

By Yay Cork May 19, 2024May 20, 2024

It’s a must-stop on any foodie tour of Ireland.

Now TV and radio presenter Dermot O’Leary has shared a sneak peek of his recent visit to Kinsale, which was filmed as part of a new five-part series for ITV.

Dermot’s Taste of Ireland will be seen by millions of people across Britain when it airs on ITV1 and on the streaming service ITVX later this year.

New images shared by the TV personality, who has co-owned two fish restaurants, show him filming outside the Michelin-starred restaurant Bastion and posing outside Kieran’s Folkhouse in the seaside town.

The presenter, whose full name is Seán Dermot Fintan O’Leary, is fiercely proud of his roots (both his parents Maria and Seán are Irish). He’s currently eating his way around Kinsale, Cork city, Wexford, Dublin and Belfast for the show, which is supported by Tourism Ireland.

The series will follow Dermot as he tours, tastes and bakes his way around the island of Ireland, meeting with local food producers, chefs and restaurateurs along the way.

“With millions of people across Britain set to tune into the series later this year on ITV1 and on the streaming service ITVX, it’s a great way to shine a spotlight on the island of Ireland – showcasing our delicious local produce, wonderful culinary offering and beautiful landscapes,” said Alice Mansergh, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland.

“Publicity and broadcasts like this are a key element of Tourism Ireland’s programme of promotional activity, to encourage travellers in Britain, and elsewhere around the world, to put the island of Ireland on their holiday wish list.”
