Cork’s weekend forecast is GLORIOUS with temperatures ‘possibly reaching 24C’

Now we’re talking.
After a rocky start, Met Éireann is predicting some glorious summer sunshine across the country this weekend.
Temperatures are on the way up starting today, Thursday, which will be dry with hazy sunny spells of up to 19 degrees.
“High pressure will continue to dominate until later in the weekend, bringing dry settled weather, with a good lot of sunshine and it’ll be warm with temperatures in the high teens to the low twenties.” said a forecaster.
Friday will be another dry day with plenty of warm sunshine developing through the course of the day.
“Highest temperatures on Friday will generally range between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius, but possibly reaching 23 degrees Celsius under those prolonged spells of sunshine.”
Saturday will be another dry day with mist and fog clearing early on Saturday morning. There’ll be lots of sunshine once again, and highest temperatures of 19 to 23 degrees, but possibly reaching 24 degrees under those prolonged spells of sunshine.
Sunday will see more cloud in the mix and some showers will break out, some heavy, with the chance of an isolated thunderstorm, but a good lot of dry weather is likely too, with some further spells of sunshine and highs of up to 21 degrees.
Current indications suggest our weather will become more unsettled early next week with low pressure dominating and periods of rain or showers, some heavy with thunder at times. Temperatures are expected to be close to average or slightly above.
“It looks like we’ll see a gradual change to more unsettled weather later in the weekend or early next week and turning cooler,” they added.
But hey, that’s for another week. Time to dust off the barbecue.
