Play experts are visiting Cork this month for a conference on playful ideas

Remember the joy of childhood play?
Feels like a very long time ago, right?
Well, suppose you’re interested in finding out more about the use of play, both as a philosophy and as a tool, to work creatively and evolve new ways of approaching the issues that challenge our society. In that case, an upcoming event is an excellent place to start.
Let’s Play Cork and P4Play are hosting a unique conference event on Friday. May 24th at 10am in CUBS on Lapps Quay, Cork City.
Playing it Forward is designed to be a space where people can share ideas, research and experiences that can be used to make our communities, towns and cities better places to work, live, learn and play.
“Using a playful approach to information exchange, you will get to meet a broad range of people working in health, education, environmental, artistic and civic organisations.” the organisers say.
“The conference will feature two main sessions: Playing it Backward, which will share details and insights on exiting projects and current research and Playing it Forward, where ideas and future projects for playful ideas will be examined.
Full programme details will be released soon, but speakers will include Marguerite Hunter Blair, CEO of Play Scotland, Theresa Casey, one of Scotland’s leading play consultants, and Samuel West, who will share his unique take on playful organisations.
