Want to help build Ireland’s longest picnic table? Bring the gang to this cute picnic

It’s going to be one of those gorgeous summer Sundays.
A fun charity event to raise money for LauraLynn Children’s Hospice will take place at Curraghbeg Plant Nursery in Ovens on June 23rd, 2024 (12pm) and guests will be invited to help the team construct Ireland’s longest picnic table (160m) on the day.
With a schedule of fun family activities and entertainment planned from 12pm (kids entry is free), it’s an excellent way to support the charity, which provides palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Kids will be treated to a Boggle Circus Skills Workshop learning cool tricks such as juggling, unicycling and Diablo and everyone can help build Ireland’s longest picnic table (160 metres).

You can bring a dish to share (savoury or sweet… up to you), but if you don’t feel like cooking the Brazilian food market and The Beach Bar will offer delicious options too as well as plenty of cake and ice cream and a Samba band will entertain picnic-goers for an afternoon of dancing.
Raffles will be held throughout the day for some fantastic prizes donated by local businesses, with even more attractions to be added in the coming weeks.
Tickets for the Picnic for LauraLynn are €10 for adults (no charge for children) and you can book by texting Dominick on 085 7820736 or paying by Revolut, cash or card on the day.
