Watch: The Sawdoctors’ Leo Moran joined in a trad’ sesh at DeBarra’s

You never know who you’ll meet in DeBarra’s.
And regulars at the famous Clonakilty pub’s Sunday trad session were treated to a star guest over the weekend.
The Sawdoctors’ lead guitarist and sometimes vocalist Leo Moran joined musicians at a low table and gave a delighted audience a blast of the band’s 1989 hit N17.

The song, a band anthem produced by Waterboys’ frontman Mike Scott, is about an Irish emigrant longing to be driving on the N17 national route which connects Galway with County Mayo and County Sligo, passing through the Saw Doctors’ hometown of Tuam.
“How was your Sunday night?” DeBarra’s posted on X.
“Leo Moran from the Sawdoctors sitting in with our regular Sunday night Trad chieftains after attending Carsie Blanton gig in the Folk Club.”
Mighty stuff.
