There’s a day of live music planned at the Marina Market for The Big Busk

Fancy some entertainment with your lunch or coffee?
The Big Busk to fight homelessness takes place in the Marina Market in Cork this Friday, April 12th.
Today FM Cork presenter KC will be popping in on the day to support the Focus Ireland event, which aims to raise urgently needed funds to deliver vital homeless services.
Matt Cooper is also supporting the event on air and will be doing a live interview on The Last Word with Lea Harte who will be performing Valerie by Amy Winehouse.
Homelessness is currently at an all-time high, with a record total of more than 13,840 people, including 4,170 children, now homeless in Ireland.
As of the end of February 2024, there were 569 adults homeless in Cork and 183 children officially recognised as homeless in Cork and Kerry. Last year, Focus Ireland supported 680 Cork households who were homeless or at risk of homelessness.
This year the music played during The Big Busk (now in its third year) will mean more than ever as a dedicated playlist from those living in homelessness is announced.
The ‘Super Focused SetList’ aims to connect the public and buskers with those affected by homelessness through songs requested by people experiencing, or who have experienced it.
